One of My "Deep As A Coffee Saucer" Moments

At the risk of sounding like a) the shallowest person on the planet, or b) the most insensitive person on the planet, or c) the shallowest insensitive berk on the planet, I have changed my LJ page style. It's the only thing I have on the agenda today.

If you've got a mo and can find it in your heart to forgive me for being such a Gilderoy Lockhart, could you please take a look and tell me if it says 'magical me' enough? I'm trying to find my look.

If this doesn't work, I'll try another. The jury's still out on this one for me personally, but you may have other ideas, and being the 'comment wh0re' that I am, I will abide by the majority - don't I always?

Did I also mention that aside from being shallow and insensitive I'm also childish, indecisive and pre-menopausal? Add itchy and water-retentive and you have all seven dwarves.

SHAMELESS, SHAMELESS PIMPAGE - FIRST AND LAST

I'm awfully sorry for this, but [livejournal.com profile] lj_scribe has a poll for last week's prompt results, and I'm tied for third place. I didn't know how competitive I was until I saw that. Voting is through Monday, the 28th, and if you don't hate me by now for bringing this damn poem up, I'd love it if you went to the community and gave it a read, and if you like it, give me a vote. I don't know why I'm caring so much, except I do. I will never to another prompt from them again. I never say never, either.

Here is my entry: Stained Glass Floor

Egads, I'm such a ho sometimes.

OK, I'll Shut Up Because I Already Look Like A Berk

I've just been moaning about my bloody [livejournal.com profile] lj_scribe  entry and they only went and posted it. I'm such a numpty. I've just re-read it, and honestly, I don't know what I was fussing so much about. It's alright, but James Joyce's Ulysses it ain't.

It reminds me of Garrison Keillor saying that he left a briefcase in a bathroom once and it got stolen. In the briefcase was his first draft of "Lake Wobegon Days". He said he could never be sure, but as time went on, he became convinced that it was the best thing he'd ever written, and that the actual book was a pale imitation of what could have been had he been able to retrieve his first draft. I think I did that with this poem.

Anyway, you can see for yourself if you don't mind reading a murder ballad. And if you want to vote for it, I think you have to go to the [livejournal.com profile] lj_scribe  community and click on the +1 on my entry. After all the fuss I've made, I wouldn't blame you if you couldn't be bothered. I promise I won't, as your friend, put you through this nonsense again.

Not My Brightest Moment

Ashwinder posted the latest chapter of Lay Me Low (Chapter 12) and I'm ever increasingly grateful to my alpha and betas for getting me to the point where I only had five cavities on this (compared to the 40 I had on TPP for As Morning Falls Chapter 4 - lack of beta, anyone?).

I am still reeling from Sempra's stunning artwork for Chapter 10 and Chapter 11. She has done illustrations for Chapters 2 and 3 as well, and I'm just blown away by her, as always. I often say that our Muses are drinking buddies.

I posted a poem to LJ_Scribe yesterday, but just as I sent it off, I realised it was not an automatic posting, and was subject to the moderator's discretion whether or not it would be posted. It hasn't been, so I guess I didn't make the cut, but the dumb thing is that I wrote it on the posting - I have no other copy of it.

I know, dumb as a very dumb thing. I've written to the mod and asked if she would send it back to me, but if she doesn't, serves me right. I can be such a dope at times. At times, I'm amazed my birth certificate has finished printing.

Happy Valentine's Day

To my dear Flist family:

May Eros smile upon you today!

I greet you with my favourite Sempraseverus drawing of my dear HG/SS. To quote the lady herself, if he were any happier, he'd burst, and that, my friends, is my wish for you. Happy Valentine's Day!

And birthday wishes to [livejournal.com profile] morethansirius ! I hope it is filled with heart-shaped happiness!
