Sometimes I'm Pretty Sure I'm Living A Dream
I have to say that LiveJournal, for all its naysayers, is probably in the top three of reasons I live a happy, fulfilling life. I can look back on the past six years of being on this site and chronicle how my overall life has improved through friendships, inspiration, generosity, and love. If LiveJournal could be transmogrified into a real location, it would be a big, warm ski lodge of a place where I can kick off my shoes, grab a brew, wriggle my toes by the roaring fire, and laugh and chat and grow close to my friends. Either that, or the large cave where we can huddle together, keep one another entertained and protected from the harsh realities that await us out THERE.
Case in point: the day before yesterday, I felt awful. I truly thought I was coming down with the flu - I'm still not saying I won't, but yesterday was better. I get home from a very difficult work day, and awaiting me is a box from Amazon. Within, I find this:

That's right, folks. Prismacolor - 150s. The most beautiful collection of artist grade coloring pencils that can be found, and they are mine - all mine! (Strokes the box)
They're are enough words of gratitude in all the languages in all the world to tell you how thrilled and grateful and humbled I am by this act of generosity.
mywitch, you are so very special. And I hope I don't embarrass you by blabbing to the world how happy this has made me. I'm almost afraid to use them - I don't feel strictly worthy. I do, however, feel inspired as hell. "Thank you" seems so inadequate, but you should be breathless by now from all the virtual hugs I've sent your way.
Also, thank you to
subversa, for dropping a personal line to encourage and inspire me and urge me to take that giant leap. Sub is one of the leading lights in our fandom and one of the best writers of our age in any genre - I'm simply rocketing to the moon that she is my friend.
I finally got Episode 14 of Teddy & The Bassman posted yesterday. I love podcasting, and I love putting together the final product, but I hate the editing part. This time, the sound levels were all over the place, so the volume is wonky like whoa, but we had two guest podcasters and lots of laughter and silliness and some actually interesting subjects were discussed. TheHubs™ did a piece purportedly based on an 1960's British Sex Education text, and it is hilarious. If you like listening to that kind of thing, please hop over to Podbean or Stitcher and give us a listen by clicking on Sevvy below:
Work calls. Boo. I love the paycheck, but these long weeks are getting tough.

(And try to have a good day at work. Easier said than done but you gotta do, what you gotta do!)
(double PS, your package is on the way. I am full of fail this week.)

Hugs! That's always wonderful to have someone send a pick me up like that! Lucky you!
The naysayers can go jump off something. We've been a good community and we're still here. I don't know what I'd do without everyone here.

Glad you like the pencils, Sugar. I still have my set from art school. They're all about 2 inches long now, haha.

We do seem to be an awfully literate group, don't we? Mr Psmith spends at least 50% of his FB time being annoyed (usually loudly and vocally) with The Stupids that somehow turn up on his feed. So far I have managed to avoid getting sucked into FB. I hope this happy state shall continue.
