SED - 03 October 2013
It's been a lovely day here in SC - still too hot for October but what can you do? TheHubs(r) and I worked feverishly yesterday and today, and that means we're done for the week! Huzzah and all that stuff! Tomorrow we have a few errands to run, and then I have to tackle the house, so that when
kmhmd comes by on Sunday, I won't expire of shame to have her see the house.
TheHubs(r) is buying me candy corn. Now, those of you who know me can honestly say I'm never one to turn down food, but candy corn is a particular weakness of mine. Last year Target had Chocolate Covered Candy Corn (and yes I'm capitalising because it's Chocolate Covered Candy Corn!!!!!) and this year he's promised to buy some for me. I never eat it in any month except October. No kidding. But I'm looking forward to it like a kid looks forward to Christmas.
We are going to have to break down and get another car and soon. It is literally falling apart by inches. The a/c doesn't word (well it works but the van doesn't know how to tell it to come on - it still blows lovely cold air but the short has shorted out), the automatic doors are on occasion, it's been hit by another van, a deer, and an old idiot who threw his car door open right as we pulled in beside him at the Post Office. Part of the driver's panel is cracked, the radio works but the cassette player doesn't. The poor old van is literally on its last legs. Well, it's been a good and faithful servant, so we really can't complain. But it is looking so battered and bruised - I'm afraid most car dealers are going to laugh us off the lot.
Neither of us were called back for the play we auditioned for on Sunday. As I said, I'm not too upset - I gave a good audition, so whatever it was they were looking for they didn't find in me, and I couldn't have given them anything else better, so that's okay. And TheHubs(r) was delighted to be told by the other theatre in town that there is a part for him in the Agatha Christie play they are doing in Spring, so all he really has to do is audition and not wee on the stage and he's got the part. I'm glad; he's very down right now - this is the second time they've past him over in a British play at this particular theatre. I do keep reminding him that they are a very clique-y bunch who pre-cast most of the best roles for their friends, but it bothers him all the same.
I'm dead tired; we did four times the work yesterday, but I'm much more tired today. I guess it's catching up with me. I think I may make it an early night.

And I leave you with this most delicious work of art. I don't know the artist, but if I did, I would credit them. I WANT him. Like, crave him:
