Ten Feet Off The Ground

Today has been a day to remember. We returned to the recording studio to finish the CD for our Songwriters Guild concert on Saturday, and all the boys show up with guitars, mandolins, percussion, the works, and proceed to spend most of the day producing the hell out of my song. Incredible. We ended up with seven songs for this CD we're doing. Three of them are mine. One is the title track. I'm totally stunned. I'm just sitting there, hearing all this beautiful work on MY stuff, tears rolling down my face, thinking: these guys are just the best.

Tomorrow we're on our local radio station promoting the concert, which will be next Saturday. If y'all are in the neighborhood, drop by and see us. We mix down tomorrow, and I promise to put a couple of the tracks on YouTube. Yes, I'm that proud of them, that I'm going to put them here. Gosh, I might even put a photo of myself on it. Nah, who am I kidding?

Saturday from Hell turned out better than I expected, and once the problem group arrived, they were actually very nice and courteous and loved everything we did. We made money and ate Mexican afterward. It was a nice day.

Off to eat at our friends house for games night. I think K's serving Brinner (breakfast eaten at dinner). I'm starving. Being inspirational is hard work.

I'm glad you had such an awesome day! I can't wait for you to put your songs up on youtube and listen to them!
It's amazing that you have three songs on the cd, one of which is the title track. I'm so proud of you. I wish I was in town to listen to you guys in concert!
I love Brinner! It's one of my favorites! Lucky!
Congrats again on your cd!

I'm glad that Saturday from Hell was downgraded into merely Saturday from Heck. And cd seems to be coming along smashingly! Woo-hoo!

I love eating Brinner! I often have a bowl of oatmeal or some yogurt with honey in it before I start drawing in the evening. But tonight, I'm nomming on that delicious multi-grain bread that I'm addicted to!

Yay for you! It's great when things gel in a better way than expected. Can't wait to hear the songs. Hope the mixdown goes well, and to your liking.

I've had a few instances where I've preferred the guide track lol.

You always make that bread sound so fab - I end up wanting some!

Yes, everything went really well. We rehearsed this morning for the concert on Saturday, and I think it will be a great evening. The only thing that would make it perfect is if you and Paul could be there. I think you'd like it.

SempraLove, I'll try to do better than that... thank you for sending me happyness...I feel it...

LOL I know! I had to use a click track on the 'Inspire' song, and I was just rubbish at it. The guys came in, put down two guitars, mandolin and percussion without even using the click track...

Thank you, sweetie - I'm tickled for you moving back home - I know moving is stressful (we moved from London back to the States two years ago), but it will be thrilling as well.

I forgot to mention...when I wrote the song, the 'bridge', you might recall, was the Muse speaking to me...I explained it to Chris Branch, and he SANG that part of the song with such sweetness and passion, and I could feel DM just radiating beside me. I was crying like a baby when he finished, and he was really happy with it. It sounds so amazing and I could feel DahlraMuse just washing over me.

Today, when we rehearsed it, it was just the same...I think it's the best thing I've ever created...well, helped create...
