PSA: Please help all you can

I mentioned a few days ago that [livejournal.com profile] stgulik lost her mom. This is the terrible and tragic news: Stgulik's mother, brother and sister-in-law were in their home watching the television when a drunk driver smashed into their living room. Her mother instantly lost her life while her brother and sister-in-law were critically injured. Her sister-in-law is still in hospital, recovering from a broken back, severe concussion, and multiple painful bruises and scrapes.

They have started a Gofundme page. Donations will go to assist in unforeseen/uncovered expenses, loss of income, and rebuilding their lives. Please donate or share to help in this difficult time of need. Any amount helps. The Gofundme page can be found HERE.

I cannot imagine the agony they are all going through at the moment, but this is such a compassionate and loving community, and I thought you would all want to know how to help. I remember how generously so many of you pitched in when TheHubs™ had his stroke, and I hope you can help here.

Thank you for posting this link, and the previous announcement too. I got DMs from some of my flisters, which was lovely. Ever since last Sunday, it feels like I can't even draw a proper breath anymore. My SIL's extended family came rushing into town, and all of us took charge of a massive to-do list. I myself have been spending the week traveling between hospitals (for some reason, my bro and SIL weren't taken to the same one), talking to agencies, and figuring out final arrangements for my mother. The other people who lived in Dan's house -- my nephew and my SIL's mother -- are basically homeless now. We're hoping the Go Fund Me will help the entire fam rent an apartment or small house temporarily, with some destroyed furniture replaced. That's eventually ... after my brother and SIL are well enough to go home ... which we have no timeframe about ... Hey look this is like blog-post length. I could go write a post, don't you think? :)
