Something I've had to learn in my own life is that emotions aren't right or wrong, they're just information about what's going on inside you. You both went through something huge and terrifying, and there are no rules about how (or how long) you're allowed to be affected by it. Honestly, two years doesn't seem like a long time, considering the enormity of the event!
