Thanks, babe. I think I love the alcove because the contrast between the crisp white and the red pleases me - more than the pain itself! We tried very hard to do a neat job - I think the mantle in the other room looks so lovely because of the curve of white wood against the red wall just makes my heart flutter.

The cake was surprisingly good for a mix, and one that's rather gimmicky to boot. It was light as a feather and very tasty.
