I have a former student who is a friend of mine and we still laugh that when I was much younger I used to get drunk and call him and talk for hours. I am a chatty drunk.
I think canning jars are very hardy, hence they can take the high temps in the oven. I have only tried it with Mason and Ball jars. But they are very cheap, and you can often find them at thrift stores (although the other day I paid $1.50 for one at the thrift store, then found new ones at another store for .99 cents.
